1. Ajaigarh Fort
Visit the

top of Ajaigarh Fort you need to climb 500 steps, and it takes about 45 min to
one hour to reach the summit. But your labor is worth because after reaching

Take your way to the back gate of fort,

understand the interior layout of the fort.

city. Keep packed mineral water as you might be needing a lot on the way. While
way back better to use the rocky path rather then stairs as normally the locals
do to get down the hill top. It will take just 15 to 20 minutes to come down.
The distance is about 2 hours from Khajuraho Temples which you need to Travel. You will get the tickets to
enter the fort from the entrance.
2. Kalinjar Fort- Ancient Fort
When you are Traveling Khajuraho then do take out time to visit
Kalinjar Fort perched at the hill top amidst the forest. There are magnificent
fort ruins and the huge entry gate which needs your attention that will lead
you to the kings royal place. There is separate queens fort within the fort
premises showcasing the marvelous inlay work. Technically designed water ponds
where once the royal ladies use to spend time at leisure. There is also a
temple carved out of single stone located at the top, spend some time to
understand the architecture of the temple as it’s the finest example of monuments in India.
You will not get much as refreshment near the temple, its better to carry some
with you.
3. Shiva Temple A Must to See - Monument Under Restoration
This temple comes under Western Group
of Khajuraho temples. Well located between Kandhariya and Jagdambe Devi temple.
This temple monument has small structure which is still under restoration. The
main chamber has a Shiva figure.
4. Dhubela Museum – Unexpected Treasure and Best Picnic Spot
This unexpected treasure lies between
Jhansi and Khajuraho. The museum has outstanding collection of Bundela and
Chandela periods and is enclosed by remarkable remains of the Maharaja
Chatrasal kingdom. It is a historical museum where the tomb of his queen is
located. Look for good collection of armaments and portraits of its glory past.
There is a huge lake flowing at the foot hills of the ruins of chattris and the
fort. It is the good picnic spot among the locals where one can indulge into
boating ride or even do fishing. The place is already on the Travel India map.
